German bank KfW keen to fund energy efficiency drive in AP
In what is termed as a shot in the arm to India’s biggest housing programme under implementation in Andhra Pradesh, Germany State-owned KfW Bank has shown keen interest to explore the possibility to extend financial support of at least Euro 152 million to implement energy efficiency measures.

Visakhapatnam: In what is termed as a shot in the arm to India's biggest housing programme under implementation in Andhra Pradesh, Germany State-owned KfW Bank has shown keen interest to explore the possibility to extend financial support of at least Euro 152 million to implement energy efficiency measures.
The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government recently launched its flagship housing project under "Navaratnalu Pedalandariki illu." The Housing Department in the State in coordination with the Energy Department is planning to facilitate a platform to provide highly cost effective (lesser than market prices) electrical appliances to the beneficiaries.
The department shall send DPRs related to electricity distribution infrastructure and related information pertaining to energy efficiency and housing data within a week as requested by KfW for feasibility study, according to an official statement.
The State is planning to implement energy-efficiency measures, best electricity distribution infrastructure, energy-efficiency designs to the houses in Jagananna colonies.
